How to shine a pair of brushed brown Chisos boots

As an owner of our brushed brown boots, you know that the brushed brown is a very unique color. No two pairs are the same!

Our brushed brown hide color is created by using a light brown tanned hide that is hand brushed with a dark brown on top. This creates the marbling effect that you all love!

That being said we are asked frequently about cleaning and shining the brushed brown boots. Here are a few tips we recommend:

  • Do not use a brown shoe shine! Using a flat brown color will take away the brushed effect. Instead, use a clear shine or leather conditioner to keep the boots looking sharp and ready for a night out!
  • Do not rub hard when applying shine or conditioner! The dark brown on top will come off if you’re pressing down too hard. We have some tips if you’ve done that, but it isn’t easy to replicate the look of the marbled color from home.
  • Do use a leather conditioner meant for finished leathers, like ours! Leather conditioner can still add shine to the boots and helps the leather last a life time.
